News update – October 2015.
Please keep up to date with your child’s learning journey – there are some lovely observations already this term and we enjoy reading parent’s comments. If you need help to access your child’s learning journey please speak to your key person.
Thank you to everyone who did support our fundraiser on 3rd October. Unfortunately not enough was raised for us to organise an outing this term but the money will be put towards our spring outing.
We are pleased to say ‘Hello’ to Logan and his family from Dennington and Aaliyah and her family from Badingham who have joined us this term.
Some of you may have noticed that in Framlingham Co op we are in their ‘green disc’ system at the moment. For every £40 that you spend you get a disc to place in the Perspex container for the charity of your choice. Depending on how many discs deposited we get a portion of £1000 which we will spend on new ‘Muddy Puddles’ outdoor suits and paint aprons. Hope you and your friends and family can support us!
In extreme weather conditions Playschool will close if Thomas Mills High School closes. Please listen to BBC Suffolk radio for school closures or check Suffolk Schools website.

Do you have any skills/talents you could share with the children e.g. playing a musical instrument, cooking, woodwork etc. if you do please speak to a member of staff about coming in for a session. Parents/carers are always welcome to join us during the sessions to help with activities – just let a member of staff know if you would like to stay or sign up to the voluntary parent rota.
Please remember children need to be dressed in suitable clothes for the weather and ones that will be OK to get dirty! Please send in a complete change of clothes, so that if they get wet/muddy we can change them for the rest of the session, a rain coat & hat/gloves.
Reminder: we cannot refrigerate children’s lunch boxes they may need an ice-pack to keep contents fresh. Please make lunches as healthy as possible, NO SWEETS IN LUNCH BOXES PLEASE.
If your child is unwell he or she needs to be at home with you for their own good and to stop the spread of disease to other children or staff. They MUST NOT return to Playschool until 48 hours after they have stopped diarrhoea or sickness. If your child needs Calpol – they should not be at Playschool – Playschool is a busy environment and they will recover better and quicker if they have a quiet day at home. .
PLEASE INFORM PLAYSCHOOL OF REASONS FOR ANY ABSENCE.
If you have any outstanding fees please phone Sam (our admin lady) to arrange payment. Sam’s phone number is 01728 638629 (leave a message if she isn’t there and she will call you back.)
Don’t forget – Our Stay & Play group for Parents & Carers and their under 5 children, term time Tuesdays 9.30am to 11.30am, and during the holidays as listed above, it’s a good time to meet and chat to other Playschool families. £2 per family.

We have had 10 cases of chicken pox at playschool so far.
"To prevent spreading the infection, keep children off nursery or school until all their spots have crusted over.
Chickenpox is infectious from one to two days before the rash starts, until all the blisters have crusted over (usually five to six days after the start of the rash).
If your child has chickenpox, try to keep them away from public areas to avoid contact with people who may not have had it, especially people who are at risk of serious problems, such as newborn babies, pregnant women and anyone with a weakened immune system (for example, people having cancer treatment or taking steroid tablets)."
